So I know I haven't written on my blog in forever and a half but just think of how many stories I have to tell you all! Well I think the last time I blogged I explained to everyone about my first student teaching placement and how wonderful it was going... well it went and is gone now and looking back it was an experience of a life time! Well I should say a learning experience. I loved working with in the school district and being around such postive educators that truly want to make a difference in the lifes of young children! When I left my placement the students had a Miss Reimer bingo party because I love bingo even though I hardly ever win! The students presented me with a basket that contained their favorite books that I read to them and a letter from each that thanked me for all of my support within the class. I am a very emotional person so you can only imagine how I reacted when a whole bunch of little whos (children) gave me this gift and each hugged me good bye. I was so teary eyed. Walking out of the school that day I was so emotional because I looked at the children leave me for the last time and I started to think of each one and how they would grow to be so succesfull; each in their own way. I def. plan on returning to Wyomissing Elementary School to pay a visit to my 1st grade class! They taught me more then I could ever learn in a classroom. It was a life changing experience that I will truly never foreget for the rest of my teaching career.
Now on to my second placement! Since the middle of March I have started my second placement at Earl Elementary School in Boyertown! I have a wonderful 5th grade class and truly learning alot about 5th graders learning styles. Its a big transformation going from a first grade classroom that is celebrating Dr. Seusses birthday to a 5th grade class that is starting to learn about plane flate surfaces in geometry! Though I have only been their for about 2 weeks I am excited for our upcoming field trip planned for April 6th to the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation in Media, Pa! I think it will be an exciting experience for the children as well as the teachers! I hope it doesnt' rain!
Well I must go for now, tomorrow is the Teacher Job Fair at Millersville University in which I will be attending to provide my resume to potential school districts looking to hire for the 2009-2010 school year! This was a fair that was provided by the Albright Career Center and provides up with numerous contacts with job opportunites or atleast contacts!
I will keep you all posted on my job search!!!!
<3 always
