Albright College

I just want to take a minute to reflect on the first few months I was at Albright and how I changed as a person from those around me. When I first moved into Walton hall it was an understatement to say that it was a change of pace for me. Coming from a Philadelphia suburb, I quickly found all responsibility was going to be put on me. But I wasn't alone. Every person living with me was in the same situation. You quickly learn to adapt and develop skills you once thought you would never know how to do. Making friends was a simple necessity that has now left me with some of my closest partnerships and connections I've found in a long time. When they say that you come to college and it's like starting a new family, it's true. Doing chores, getting up for class, doing assignments on time was all monitored by my parents while I was in high school, but coming into Albright, me and my new found friends looked out for each other and made sure we all succeeded. We were all in the same boat. A transition that felt like a matter of days, forced me to take charge, open up, and mature into not just an young man, but into a young adult.
