So it sounds incredibly nerdy blogging about the economy as a 20 year old college student, but I'm about to do so anyway. If you follow the link (Indie Capitalism) prepare to have your mind blown.
If you become so lucky to work in our college admission office you will become very familiar with CNN as if broadcasts 24/7 in our lobby. This isn't the point, haha. The point is that working in the office two days a week keeps me in the loop with how dismal our global economy continues to be (a spillover benefit if you will). The situation is incredibly disheartening to a student like me who thought the economy might have recovered more as I approach graduation, but it doesn't seem to be the case. However, this article reaffirms my hope in our generation. Imagine an American economy driven by the things we don't even consider work (social media). I don't want to ruin the article for you, but it's rather thought provoking. Comment back with your thoughts. I'm game for a debate!
Comment by Justin Robert Kollinger on December 27, 2011 at 9:38am Thanks for the article! It is the reason I have hope for the recent and upcoming graduating classes, but I think there are some weaknesses in his argument, too. Stop by when you get back if you want to discuss!
