Albright College

So this is my last week of college and by has it been busy. Well I don't have finals since I student taught this whole semester, but the whole packing, preparing for graduation, and job searching consumes alot of my time. I have mixed emotions about graduating this upcoming sunday. I am excited to experience that real world aspect that everyone talks about but I want to have that sense of a student that I want to gain back by attending grad school in the near future. Maybe not right away because I think I need a break from school for a year to actually get a job and start to save and well you know all that stuff! I am really looking forward to this week and spending it with my my class and look back on all we have went through together.
Albright has prepared me as much as I can for the real world in the job aspect and through education. I feel as though the only way to really experience the real world and know what it is about is to actually just go out there and do it. As much as everyone talks about it and says what you will experience I know that it is something you need to just experience. Just like college, everyone can tell you almost everything about it but without that experience and your own personal connection with it you can't truly understand it fully.
I have gained so much through student teaching at both Wyomissing Hills Elementary School and Earl Elementary School in Boyertown. I have formed frienships with two amazing teachers that I will always look to as mentors. I know that I can always call or email them for help and they will be there in a blink of an eye to help me. The knowledge that I gained from being in the classroom everyday is something that an education class can not teach you but only guide you to understand. For any of you that are thinking about majoring or are majoring in education, I say that it is the most rewarding job in the world. Though we may be under paid and not receive all the credit that we should, the most rewarding prize is going home at night knowing that you helped a child read or experience something that they never ever saw or understood before. There is not any other job that can take the credit for that and no one can put a price tag on that.

I will keep everyone posted on my senior week and all the events that happen before and after graduation. I am so exicted to have the ability like so to share my journey in the teaching world with everyone. I think it is a positive way of influencing others to get involved with helping the future leaders of tomorrow.

<3 always
