Albright College

Yes, it is definitely that time of the semester again... the days are numbered and few. Professors are realizing that we have just over 2 weeks of class left and they are trying to fit in as much information as possible! In some ways, I'm thrilled, in others I'm scared out of my mind! In 2 weeks, I will be taking my last set of final exams and then I will start my student teaching at the end of January. Don't get me wrong, I'm so thrilled to be in a classroom. My observations this semester have been enlightening and tons of fun. The students I work with are an awesome group, and I'm beginning to focus my sights on teaching high school instead of middle school! But, of course, with student teaching comes the fact that I will not be on Albright's campus day in and day out. Kind of a depressing thought...

OHH, and if you recall, I had big plans to hit Seattle the other weekend. Well, I literally have just sat down for the first time since I've been back (haha, between work and schoolwork, this is pretty much the whole truth!)... and I figured out how to upload photos onto my Faces page here. SO -- what you should do after reading this is head over to those pictures and check them out! My weekend in Seattle was rather whirlwind and my plane was delayed over 3 hours leaving from Philly, but it was still an AWESOME experience! It was a student connections conference sponsored by NEA (the National Education Association), and I got to attend some really neat workshops. I even met another future secondary math teacher from Texas! For our free time dinner on Saturday night, we actually ate in the top of the Space Needle. Most of us got their "lunar orbiter" dessert which steams! Dry ice and warm water make a pretty cool presentation of an otherwise normal bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream! But, you know, it was pretty sweet getting to see the city of Seattle lit up in the night sky. Seattle is definitely on my list of places to return to in the future. It is such a different landscape than what I am used to here on the East Coast.

Okay, well, my stomach is starting to growl, which means I should make some dinner! Any suggestions? :)

How about trying Seattle for first-job-after-college applications?
Might as well do it while you are young! Plenty of time to head
back to the East Coast after you've worked our your first-year
jitters!

You know... as much as it was an awesome time to be out there, I don't know if I could deal with the gray, gloomy, rainy weather on a daily basis! It depressed me too much! The scenery is sooo neat, though, I know I will definitely head back out for another tourist-y visit in the future! :)
