Albright College

Hi Everyone! I know I'm a bit of a slacker and haven't gotten to post recently. I've actually been extraordinarily busy though! The beginning of my summer was a bit slow, but it is flying by! (and to top it all off, I just realized tomorrow it will be 1 month before I move back in!)

So my adventures include traveling to Indiana for a Phi Mu conference and going to Georgia for a family reunion. The conference was a part of UIFI--Phi Mu specific. UIFI stands for Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute and it is usually facilitated by members of various Greek organizations, for undergraduate students involved in Greek Life. This one is unique though, we got to have this conference (still facilitated by members of all Greek organizations, including Phi Mus) for just undergraduate Phi Mus. I went as an emerging leader with our current President. It was seriously one of the best experiences I've ever been through. We got to stay in a giant Phi Mu house and bond with other sisters. We learned all about the meaning of Greek Life and how to make it better. Needless to say, I have a million ideas to share with my sisters at Albright and I can't wait to share with any new sisters who decide to pledge. I grew as a person, as a leader, and as a Phi Mu. I didn't think that one conference could do all that!

But I left I on the 9th, and got home at 10:30 on the 13th. We sat in the Indianapolis airport for about 7 hours before my flight left. All the girls waiting for their flights sat in the middle of the food court area and got to hang out and prepare for our goodbyes. It was a sad departure, but our facilitators have given us a thousand ways to communicate and stay in touch! So I got home, I packed and was up at 6:30 the next morning because I was leaving for Georgia.

We all got up, packed the car and drove to my grandma's house. There we met up with my aunt, uncle, grandma and cousins. We got into a van that brought us to La Guardia Airport in New York. My brother and I sat next to each other on the flight there and we got to take a bunch of pictures from the airplane. We finally landed in Greenville, SC and had to drive about 2 hours to the place we were staying. The condos were in the middle of no where and still a half hour from the lake house where the reunion was taking place.

On the 13th, we showed up for a short amount of time to say hello and meet everyone again. The last time I saw a lot of these people was 10 years ago! The next morning we slept in, and got to the lake around lunch time. Then the day consisted of water tubing, jet skiing, swimming, and eating. They like to keep you full there! I had so much fun water tubing, but I was so sore the next day that I decided to take it easy, I rode in the boats, kayaked across the lake, and played in the water with some of my younger cousins. I had such a great time! It was wonderful seeing my family again.

But now I'm home and I have been able to relax. Tonight I'm seeing the new Harry Potter movie and I'm going to be trying to pick up shifts for work!

I will keep everyone updated though with the remainder of my summer! :) I hope you are all enjoying yours!
