Hey all,
Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile... things have been even crazier than usual. Last week I had to go home unexpectedly for a funeral, and while the preparations for going home were hurried...it made me realize how supportive the Albright community really is. All of my professors were extremely supportive and accomidating, and I felt like they really cared about me. During times of unsteadiness it is comforting to feel a part of a community like this. Albright is a small campus, where friendly faces are in abundance (and you can put a name to that friendly face). Between professors, friends and even my freshman residents, it made the absense much easier. I don't know if I would have gotten that same support from a larger campus. I believe there's a lot to be said about small liberal arts colleges, and my experiences these last few weeks have really proven it for me at least. So my advice to everyone as you are filling out college apps is to try and find a place that you will belong; a community that will be in your corner during the hardest fights... whether that be through exams, a death, or adjusting to being on your own. For me it was Albright, and I hope that we as college students can find that niche to be a part of for 4 years.
on a happier note...Fall break is coming up! And while I was just home, I am looking forward to being there under better circumstances! We go home Friday and have a glorious 4 day weekend, with classes resuming on Wednesday. However, the damper of fall break is that is it often compiled with upcoming. Sometimes its exams, however this time it's a presentation and a paper due the week we come back! So I am going to have to force myself to hanker down and do some work while I am home (which always proves really difficult).
Talk to you all after break!
