Albright College

Hi everyone! I apologize for my lack of communication, I've been all over the world and have often had no access to internet. After leaving Singapore last week I flew down to Australia where I had a whirlwind tour in which I slotted a huge number of visits to family and friends into a short, four-day stay. I arrived about 6:30am on Sunday and was immediately hit by how cold it was (Its winter there when its summer in the US...its a hemisphere thing...oh and YES the toilets do flush the other way) I was picked up and visited my house in Australia and went for a drive around the vineyard we have there. After that I was in downtown Adelaide for a couple of days, in the South of Australia, seeing all of my grandparents and friends that we keep in contact with. I was able to drive past the first house I ever lived in and see all of the places that hold so many memories to me about my years in the land down under.

It was amazing being back in Australia. It didn't hit me until I was sitting in the airport about to leave just how much I miss it. Of course when you leave everyone and everything you know behind on another side of the world, you're bound to have some nostalgic feelings. However, all things considered, It was a great change moving to the US and I have no regrets.

Moving from the warm fuzzies to the harsh realities of international travel. My home journey was long...maybe even epic. I left Adelaide around noon on thursday (the 14th) on a 6 hour flight to Singapore. Once there, I had 4 hours looking around Singapore airport before boarding my next flight. I then flew a lovely 13 hours to Amsterdam, thankfully sleeping most of the journey. I arrived in amsterdam around 6am friday morning and walked around until my flight at 10:30. Another 8 hours and I was back in the US. After 37 hours of travelling that was technically only 24 hours in time passed (noon on thursday to 1:30pm on friday) and crossing 4 continents...i'm home!

Due to the wonders of jetlag, i've been up since 4:30am...which will actually benefit me as i'm heading back to Albright today to get prepared for all the new freshmen to join the Albright family! Early starts can never hurt...although I know i'll be crashing at the end of the day.

See you on campus!
