For those of you who don't know, I live fairly close to Albright and I recently went home for dinner with my family. We sat around the dinner table and shared a few stories. My mom discussed the topic of the sermon she heard that morning. My 18 year old brother discussed college. I recall telling him that it goes by fast. Then came my 10 year old brother. Tiny, fourth grade Matt.. the baby of the family. Us adults had seemingly been so wrapped up in grown-up talk, we almost forgot he was around.…

Hey all.
My test in GIS went well last week. I think one of the main reasons I really enjoy about that class is the small size. We only have 7 people in our class and Dr. Mech has the opportunity to develop relationships with each and every one of the students in the class. It's awesome to have a mentor who is invested enough in his students to guide them in a positive direction but is also able to give them the space to flourish.
Although I love my academics, life isn't all about analyzing ma…

Hey Everyone.
I apologize for not blogging in awhile. The past seven weeks of the semester seem like a blur. I feel like I just walked into my classes yesterday. Speaking of classes, these are the ones I'm taking this semester!!
Modern Art History
Art Computer Graphics and Design
Geographic Information Systems
Art Design
Web Design
I don't think I could pick a favorite because they're all pretty relevant to what I want to achieve after I graduate. However, GIS would be one that I've looked fo…

I want you to think of a point in the past where you thought everything that could go wrong, went wrong. You know those days... the ones where you say to yourself, "I woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Its that day where you feel like closing the blinds, locking the door, and curling up with your favorite pillow.
Well, I want to share a secret with you. This secret, if used in the correct and confident state of mind, will empower you to overcome those dreadful days. It's called the law of a…

Welcome to a lesson in Irish Literature! Today, you'll learn a small but intriguing custom that traditional Gaels used to celebrate. The reason why I am writing about it.. because its the topic of my interim class of course! Now let me tell you how our professor has gotten us excited about it..
The very first day we started class, January 5, Dr. Morris walked into our classroom carrying something unique in an eco-friendly shopping bag. All of us (the students in the class) looked around at each…

Hey all. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are looking forward to a good new year. I thoroughly enjoyed my break and I had a great time spending it with my family. I want to share with you something unique that I saw while I was visiting New York. It was a heart-felt moment in Manhattan but it mainly got me thinking about the future.
Scene! I was walking with seven people. Myself, my mom, my two younger brothers (david and matt), and three of my cousins were in downtown Manhatta…

Yoo whatsup everyone!!
This semester has gone by so fast, its unbelievable. I can't believe its almost December and that we only have two and half weeks of class left. There are plenty of things that I've learned from this semester and I want to share a few of them with you. I want to count down starting with number 5.
5) Just live your life.
T.I. and Rihanna's hit has been chart-toppin. So much so, people walk around just singing the lyrics without any beat. Its amazingly expressive and the…

Hey everyone!
I hope the beginning of the school year has treated you well. I'm off to a solid start and I like to think I'm doing a good job keeping up with my school work and all of my extra-cirriculars. However, I haven't blogged in awhile so here is alittle insight as to what I'm up to lately.
Over the past four weekends, I've attended two conferences related to my academic endavors... And I'll be attending another one this coming weekend. The first was the American Society of Landscape Ar…

Steppin’ Up
It ain’t easy being Green. Matter of fact, it takes persistence and dedication. The amount of dedication required to make a commitment going green is often worthwhile but it also leads people astray. For some, it’s too ti…

Hey all. I have been maxed out lately but it feels great. Im enjoying every moment from my school work and classes to all the activities I'm involved in.. you cant forget about doing your laundry or showering, either. Those are pretty important. Today, I want to share some news with all of you that I received about a week ago. Now this may not contain much information for you but its a pretty big deal for me; plus, it may offer some insight as to the opportunities that you may encounter in your…

Hey yall!!! So the first week of school went very well. Classes started and I'm pretty excited. They are definately going to make me think but I feel as though my professors are also trying to get me to be creative. By urging us to formulate our own opinion's on the material we study, they're giving me the opportunity to do something great. I dont know if they know they're doing this but my professors are encouraging me to be expressive and they're opening up new doors for different ways of thin…

Hey everyone. I hope you are all enjoying the last portion of your summer. We start school in two weeks.. which means 10 days til all the new students move in!! And only 7 days to prepare.. YIKES. However, I am going to share a story with you about an almost catastrophic event in which I barely got by with a few scratches.
Scene: Good-bye Party to our friends from Germany. Friday night a week ago, just after sunset.
My friend Sean and I walked up the concrete path to the front door of the bri…

Hey everyone. So im going to take a different approach to blogging today. I am going to offer advice to Albright College. What happens with the information is up to the administration; however, it is only intended to help the college and possibly provoke some change to benefit us all. This new information is something easily shared, widely known, but for some reason.. not employed by Albright.
so to start... I merely ask you all just to imagine the perfect college setting, a "paradise college"…

Hey yall. I hope you are trying to stay cool because I know this Heat Wave is literally cooking up a storm. My approach to staying cool includes jumping in any body of water possible.. including 25 foot cliffs and going waterskiing!
Anyway, today I wanted to share with you something of interest to me. As some of you may know and hopefully those of you who don't know me so well may soon find out, I have a slight green thumb. Now I don't like to push my point of view down others throats nor do I…

Hey everyone!! I know I'm over a week late for this but its been an awesome couple of weeks here at "The Bright" and I thought I would tell you this before its too late.. but Happy July 4th. I hope you all enjoyed your independence day with fireworks, barbeques, and some family or friends.
I'm blogging today because this past weekend was probably the most tiring, busy, and yes.. stressful weekend I've had this summer. Despite this, it also will stick out for me as one of the most memorable. Let…

Hey Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your summer. I thought for my first post I would write an introduction as to why I am blogging and a little bit about what I do. As the summer continues on into the school year, ill keep you up to date with my latest happenings that may offer you a clue as to what it is really like to be an Albrightian.
To get things started.. I am blogging because I want to tell you about my journey. Obviously, I cant share my whole journey on a blog. It just wouldn't fit.…
