Hello all,
This week I just started an internship with an Investment firm called Cornerstone Financial Strategies. Though I have only worked 3 days so far, I am rather excited about it.
With internships, sometimes you seem to be the company's secretary or receptionist than anything else. This is not the case with my internship with Cornerstone.
On the first day, my internship supervisor had a two hour conversation with me about different investment strategies and how I was going to help their…

One of my jobs during the summer is working at Albright College as a Conference Assistant. As a Conference Assistant, we serve as liaisons for the college for the conferences and camps that utilize Albright's facilities during the summer. Though we [the student workers for conferences] only moved in about a week ago, we have not had any camps or conferences yet at Albright. This past week has served as a "training week," so that we can be prepared for when camps and conferences are held at Albri…

When you go visit a college/university and go on that college tour, you are bound to hear many aspects of the collegiate package that the school can provide you, state of the art academic buildings, luxurious dorms, good cafe food, great athletic teams etc etc. As a tour guide myself for Albright's Admission office, one day after a tour I really began to analyze what I told people on tour. It seems for me that my tour covers a lot of the standard "tour items" such as buildings, food, sports and…

I know this is a long blog post but I believe it is definitely worth reading.
So this past week was our spring break, a time where most of us were able to chill and relax after mid-term exams and papers and prepare for the rest of the semester (for some, studying was a part of the break as well!). I was fortunate this break to be able to travel to Galveston, Texas as part of the Alternative Spring Break Crew to help out with the hurricane relief efforts that hit Texas hard in mid September of l…

So over the past couple of days I have been extremely busy with the Student Government Assocation (SGA). For those of us who are on SGA, it's our life, we live for it, we love serving students. But for students on our campus, I feel like I might be able to give you a glimpse of what SGA really does.
Now if I were to go into great detail of everything that our Student Government does on campus, I would have to write a novel and hopefully await for it to appear on the shelves of the nearest Barne…

Being so close to home while at Albirght, I really do feel like I take things for granted. It is much more convenient for me to see my family than most students and I am able to grab things from my house whenever I please. But.....though I am not so far away.....I feel that I do a good job at making Albright as far away as possible.
(Lesson to Berks County Students: college is as far as you make it)
Despite being rather close to home, I feel it is only when I'm home for break that I am…

The reason why I enjoy Thanksgiving so much is because it is one of those holidays where we reflect on our lives and express who and what we are thankful for. I must personally admit that I should do this more often than I do now (perhaps a New Years Resolution?), but I think that it is awesome that one day can bring family and friends together to reflect on what they are truly thankful for.
Thanksgiving is one of my two favorite holidays and to be honest, I feel that it might be my most favori…

Wheewww...Today is already the last day of fall break. Fall break began for us this past Friday, when most of us finished our mid-term exams and handed in any mid-term papers that were due. During this break, most Albrightians will return home to see their family, but I remained on campus to work and to relax a bit. Yes, I realize that my hometown is only about 10mins away, but I rarely go home and when I do it’s usually just a quick drive-by. [Don't fret though because I saw my family twice ove…

I am sitting by my computer with a stack of accounting and management books to my left and a quarter done albrightian (school newspaper) to my right, but I decided among all this work I am going to take a hot minute to blog because clearly I haven't done that in a while!
This weekend I had the opportunity to attend an ASGA (American Student Government Association) conference in D.C. with 6 other SGA Officers. We left Thursday afternoon and arrived in Bethesda (right outside of Washinton, D.C.)…

Now when everyone hears the terms "the first day of school," groans are sure to follow. However, when us Albrightians hear the phrase "first day back at Albright," cries of joy are usually heard. Don't get me wrong, summers are fantastic. They are a great way for us to be work-a-holics and not have to worry about academic pressures or severe time management. But there's just something about being back at college that feels....well....just right. It's so great to have everyone back at Albright an…

So....I really could not have asked for a better summer. I had the great opportunity to live and work on campus as a Summer Conference Assistant and a tour guide for the Admission office. I have gotten to know a lot of the staff here that most students take for granted and that in itself was quite a reward. I have been to a John Mayer Concert, cliff jumping, VA Beach, and saw the new Batman movie on Imax. (By the way, if you haven't seen this movie yet, drop everything you are doing right now an…

So, this past weekend has been pretty hectic, yet at the same time it was a blast. The fun actually began on Thursday, when Kelly, Jared, Pam (all of whom are Albright bloggers) and I went to the John Mayer/Colbie Colliat concert in Camden, NJ. Though we did get stuck in traffic in Camden for about an hour (I don't know how we survived-haha), we made it just in time to see Colbie Colliat go on stage. Colbie was good, but was no match compared to the legend himself-Mr. John Mayer. John played all…

So far the summer has been going well. I just started working for the Summer Conference Office this past week and boy has it been a blast. It's like I never left college. A lot of my friends are back: some taking classes, most are working at Albright, all of us are having a great time. (Last week, we even got to paint the South Lounge which was a fun and messy time!).
Unfortunately, I was also killed yesterday in the game of Assasin by Zeke (Matt Bazsika). Basically, every staff member is assig…

Though it's technically not summer yet, it sure feels like it. The weather has been fantastic and it seems that everyone is outside taking advantage of what mother nature has to offer. Just today, I was outside by Sylvan Pond eating lunch soaking up the great view of Albright College.
Why am I at Albright you ask even though college has let out for the summer? Good question. Well, like other students who can't stand to be away from Albright for more than a week, I am working here at the college…
