I love my life, and yet it feels like it is psychotic most of the time.
I'm definitely in my 5th week (I believe it's the 5th week...) of student teaching. I'm currently at a junior high school in Boyertown, and can I just say that I love it? I am with 8th graders all day long. Now, most people might just cringe at the thought of that, but I have really enjoyed being with them! Of course, teaching is no easy task, but the work is fun, though very time…

Well, it is nearly the end of break for those Albrightians heading back for Interim classes. However, for us very lazy ones, this is not true, though work will start with the commencement of Interim (so I guess that makes me not so lazy). I must admit that I am excited to again grace the wonderful sidewalks and buildings of Albright, though this time I come back without the excitement over classes to take. I will be student teaching this semester, and that is kind of a weird premise for me. I…

So, I figured I could share with you a part of my to-do list for the next week and a half or so of classes that remain for me here at Albright -- it's quite a load of work, if I do say so myself!
1. Finish math senior sem paper (bibliography, citations, proofread)
2. Special Ed. Tiered Lesson plan and visual for presentation
3. Special Ed. Paper on Observations
4. Secondary Methods II Assignments -- there are 2 of these... :(
5. Read another 200 pages of an…

Yes, it is definitely that time of the semester again... the days are numbered and few. Professors are realizing that we have just over 2 weeks of class left and they are trying to fit in as much information as possible! In some ways, I'm thrilled, in others I'm scared out of my mind! In 2 weeks, I will be taking my last set of final exams and then I will start my student teaching at the end of January. Don't get me wrong, I'm so thrilled to be in a classroom. My observations this semester have…

Hi, everyone! It has been a crazy past few weeks, and I am happy to say that it will continue to be crazy until the end of the semester. I think I will be bored over break! Anyway, just wanted to update you all --- this coming weekend I will be in Seattle for a special conference for Education students. I am getting to go through our PA State Education Association, and I am looking forward to having a good time. I'm busy getting together lesson plans and questions for our Spring Conference…

This weekend is fall break.
I need it.
Desperately.
I feel like all I have been doing is running around for lots of things -- observations in the classroom (2 different schools!), class, homework, research for honors senior thesis paper, the list goes on! But, this fall break will not be spent relaxing. Instead, I am going to a concert for this wonderful, amazing group of men. Maybe you've heard of them? Celtic Thunder? Ohh yes, forgive me for watching watching PBS and…

So, on your senior year, you anticipate Homecoming! It's so exciting, and you are so thrilled to get intolved and have an awesome time with friends. Unfortunately, that is not quite how my senior year homecoming played out, BUT, it was still awesome!!!!
Let me explain. I am part of the Student PSEA which is an organization for all of the teachers in PA and we have a student program. From our student conference last year, I took a position as Regionl President for the Eastern region…

So, last week I felt like I didn't have a second of free time... I was definitely working A LOT in the admission office, and it was sad there because all of the counselors were out visiting YOU -- our prospectives -- at your high schools. This, in and of itself, is a cool concept because I totally talked to/met Chris at my high school and now this year my brother will be doing the same thing (YES! He is considering Albright). So, it is pretty cool that our counselors meet a lot of you, even if…

It's kind of crazy to believe that we are already into week 4 of the semester! It's already gotten crazy with classes and extracurricular stuff... but, it also keeps life fun!
So, the other week I blogged and I TOTALLY forgot to mention about my trip to Wildwood the other weekend. My mistake! It was an Albright trip (like a bunch of the ones that happen all the time), and we paid a $5 deposit to hold our seat on the bus. It was a nice charter bus, too, guys! And when you get on the…

So, the end of week 2 comes with a TON of rain. I think my sister was smart getting super rain boots... I may just have to invest in the event we get another "coastal storm" again! The rain has made a slight change in my plans for the day - it's Friday and I have no classes, so I was definitely going to do some laundry (it hasn't been done since I've gotten here), but I'm not walking up to the laundry thing in the Woods unless that sun is shining!
This has been a super busy week, and…

WOW!!!!! The end of summer really blew by fast, and now I find myself sitting in my apartment on Albright's campus.... amazing how time flies (I guess I was having fun!). So, sitting here, I realize that my life is kind of weird on Monday mornings. I have a really weird schedule this year where I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Now, don't get me wrong, I will not have three whole days of freedom each week - those days will certainly be occupied by work, school work, and spending…

I know I am way overdue on MY posting, so I figure I better get on this, and guess what?! I actually have some exciting things to talk about! WOOOHOOO!!!!! :) (My life always seems boring to me, so it's awesome when I have something fun to talk about!)
Well, this last weekend has literally been a whirlwind of events for me! Friday was the last day at my job as teacher's aide for the summer. That was kind of sad, but it was an awesome time as we did a scavenger hunt with the kids. We…

So, it recently hit me (i.e. in the last 3 days) that we are already making our way into July. A lot of it started when another person at my new job (teacher's aide for the summer) made a statement about it being June 31st which, of course, does not exist! So, that meant it was July...
I'm getting excited to be able to head back to Albright for classes in a little more than a month and a half, though this time it is definitely bittersweet. This will be the last time that I start…
