The breaks are all over now. We have hit the stretch run until the end of the semester. Classes are getting a bit stressful. My big project is a 30 page paper for a senior seminar in math. It sounds scary...because it is. It hasn't been that bad though because I meet with my professor once a week to go over my progess, meaning I cannot procrastinate because we need so many pages done by each meeting, and I meet with another professor who is an expert in my area that I chose. So last night I went to Albright's NCAA tournament basketball game which was really exciting!!! For those of you who don't follow too much basketball, the NCAA tournament is a national tournament for basketball. Since Albright is a division 3 school, we were in the division 3 tournament and we got really lucky this year that one of the first round host sites was right here at Albright! I'm a huge sports fanatic. I mean I'll watch almost anything but the olympics and the world cup make me drop everything I'm doing just to watch them. I love the winter olympics, especially at college because everyone is watching them. It's been a fun first week of the games. I'm going to sound like a huge nerd here, but I was amped for curling. No lie, I love watching curling. Though right now I'm very disappointing because the US men are 0-4 and the women are 0-3...so it's not looking good…

So I made it through the first week of classes, activities, and craziness. Whew. Don't get me wrong, I love it here and I love all of the activities that I participate in, but the first week is always a rough one.



Classes look like they're going to go well. I'm taking my last two math classes here at Albright, which is happy and sad at the same time. I'll be officially done with part of my major, but I know I'm going to miss the math just a bit. I'm also taking two education classes.… Continue

A lot of people are at Albright right now for the interim session taking a class or working here, but I'm doing something a little different: observing a middle school classroom.



I'm a math/secondary education major in case you didn't know, and a requirement for education majors is that they take a class called early field experience, where we are put into a classroom to observe and even teach a little bit; we get our feet wet to see if we like education. That's right, today I am doing absolutely nothing constructive...first time I could say that for a while. Finals are over, the semester is over, and now I can be a bum for two weeks. Yay!



It was a busy semester, but a fun one as well. Looking back I really did learn a lot. My classes went pretty well, I'm hoping to get those grades back soon. With the end of the semester fast approaching stress is building more and more each day. Luckily I had this break to catch up on work and have at least a little bit of time to relax.



First up was Thanksgiving! For Thanksgiving my girlfriend Carrie and I drove out to her home in Fairchance, which is about an hour south of Pittsburgh. It's getting really busy to say the least. We've hit the part of the semester where everything seems to hit us all at once...



Pledging has been time consuming, but fun at the same time. Last week I had two tests, and this week two more. One of the tests this week was on Monday so only one more to go...and that's on Friday. Things have been pretty crazy the past couple of weeks, so I'm going to recap some of the highlights.



Classes have been going well. They are all starting to get busy at the same time as well as all of my activities, but I'm just going to have to fight through it. Last weekend I went to see Saw 6 with a group of friends, and the movie was very good. So if you are a Saw fan and have not seen the new movie, I recommend it. So finally things have settled down...at least for now. Last weekend was Homecoming weekend and it was crazy to say the least. Luckily it didn't rain, like the forecast had predicted all week. It was actually bright and sunny, and somehow even in October I managed to get sunburn...not exactly proud of that fact haha.

Busy busy busy. That's what the past few weeks have been for me. Two weeks ago I was helping out with the new student orientation here, which was a ton of fun but very very tiring. Only a few more weeks until school starts up again and I feel like there's barely been a summer.



Working at Albright for the summer was a great experience, but it went by so quickly and now I feel like summer was almost nonexistent (though even if I hadn't worked, I'm sure it would have gone just as fast).

First of all it just hit me the other day that summer is about half over...that's sad. It feels like it's gone so quick but at the same time the last week or so has been so nuts that I haven't even noticed.

So the highlight of my week so far was going to see transformers last night. It was the midnight showing and it was in Imax!! A bunch of us who are staying at Albright over the summer decided to go and it was a great time. We got there early to make sure we got good seats, which we did. Great decision too, because people who showed up at 11:15 had to sit in the front row and look up at the enormous screen. This is my first blog on here and it happens to be about two topics that characterize me very well: Albright and my beloved Phillies. I'm working here over the summer in both the Conference office and the Admissions office for the summer and today was a Conference day only.
