My darling roommate is from Texas and goes to a pretty big university.
Recently, she had to register for spring classes- as did everyone else- and I kept hearing these horror stories from people in my program who had tried to registers for spring classes overseas. I was getting nervous because I had to register for classes too and I was afraid that I would have to go through all the turmoil and trouble.
I basically got nervous for no reason.
The registers office emailed me, sent me an email wi…

So it appears finals are in almost 2 weeks. I was
hoping to be able to head out early but I have a final 8AM on Friday, so my Christmas break won't be starting early this year. But all's well.
I'll be home for two weeks then I'm coming right back to take an interim course with Dr. Brogan....which from the syllabus he posted sounds insanely good. I thought it was going to be a class just on negotiation, you know, lectures on technique. But it looks as if we actually do negotiation activit…

So, I figured I could share with you a part of my to-do list for the next week and a half or so of classes that remain for me here at Albright -- it's quite a load of work, if I do say so myself!
1. Finish math senior sem paper (bibliography, citations, proofread)
2. Special Ed. Tiered Lesson plan and visual for presentation
3. Special Ed. Paper on Observations
4. Secondary Methods II Assignments -- there are 2 of these... :(
5. Read another 200 pages of an educational book for American Ed. Sys…

Yes, I just quoted Rihanna, don't take it against me.
Well, it's been a long time, but I've finally made my way back to the flock: Albright's Ning Social Network.
I see so many new and fresh faces and I say to myself, wow, that's was me in a time and place so so far and long ago.
I stopped blogging because for the longest time I felt I had nothing to say that was intrinsically different that what everyone else was saying, and overall, I no longer felt my Albright experience was singular and un…

With the end of the semester fast approaching stress is building more and more each day. Luckily I had this break to catch up on work and have at least a little bit of time to relax.
First up was Thanksgiving! For Thanksgiving my girlfriend Carrie and I drove out to her home in Fairchance, which is about an hour south of Pittsburgh. I don't know how many of you have experience driving long distances but that drive is brutal. We left at 7am Wednesday morning and got to her house around 11:30, wi…

So who would have thought that thanksgiving break would be coming so soon. I don't want to think about how there is only two weeks left in the semester and then we have the dreaded finals. I can on the other hand look forward to the sweet library activities though. I would have to say that the only good thing about finals week is the city lights at the library. Who wouldn't want to go get free pizza, candy, and play with therapy dogs and puppies while they study for finals. On the other hand I w…

Attention students of Albright. I just wanted to let everyone know that our game starts at 12 on Saturday. I hope anyone who lives or is willing to drive to Doylestown Pa. This is the second round of the playoffs for us and it would be great to see as many people there as possible. This is also a huge game because it is the second time in Albright history that the football team will be going to the second round of the national playoffs. Another great reason to go is because of the fact Delaware…

So my life last week was kind of hectic, but luckily, I made it through. Last Friday, I went to the Domino Player’s (Albright’s Theatre Company) presentation of The Miser. It was a great performance that had the audience engaged the whole time. Every production that the Domino Players have presented since I have been at Albright has been phenomenal.
Saturday was our second fall open house. I met so many great families and gave a lot of great tours. The families were very engaged in the tours, w…

Well, as many as you probably know, I already have pretty short hair. So when my friend Tyler Parmer suggested we do a 'head shaving' fundraiser to raise money for Livestrong, I said "Sure, I'll shave my head, it won't be any different".
Of course with these types of fundraisers there is never one 'winner', we all made the decision to join Andy Behler, the true winner, and shave our heads together:

My roommate and I decided to take a little getaway and go to Barcelona this week.
After class on Tuesday, we took a bus to the airport, and boarded the plane.
Now, this was my first experience with RyanAir and I always heard "horror" stories of how they could make more money off of young travelers. Here are a few examples- if you do not print out your boarding pass, it could result in a 40 euro fee, if you you want to check a bag, it could become 30-70 euro fee, and if you want to go to the bat…

Yes, it is definitely that time of the semester again... the days are numbered and few. Professors are realizing that we have just over 2 weeks of class left and they are trying to fit in as much information as possible! In some ways, I'm thrilled, in others I'm scared out of my mind! In 2 weeks, I will be taking my last set of final exams and then I will start my student teaching at the end of January. Don't get me wrong, I'm so thrilled to be in a classroom. My observations this semester have…

It's getting really busy to say the least. We've hit the part of the semester where everything seems to hit us all at once...
Pledging has been time consuming, but fun at the same time. Last week I had two tests, and this week two more. One of the tests this week was on Monday so only one more to go...and that's on Friday. Problem is it's in my abstract algebra class, which is really hard, so I'm nervous for it. Just going to have to hit the books. I also have a 10 page math paper to write, a u…

I mean that in a good way!
It's a busy 'nother couple of weeks. Most of it is fraternity events, we're doing a 'headshaving' fundraiser in which I'm participating....but I won't win because my hair is already pretty short.
Otherwise it's the peak of the semester and the papers and exams are piling up. I used to be able to nap every afternoon but lately I've been using that time to get work done before my nightly meetings and events.
Enough about my busy life, how about those Packers? Aaron Ro…

I've been to graduations, air band competitions, championship basketball games, and presidential inaugurations at Albright; however I think the International Student Dinner I attended last night may have been my most enjoyable Albright function EVER! The cafe was packed! I'd estimate 600 students, faculty, and employees and their families attended. Not only did I get to try some food from different countries (cooked by the students from those countries) but we also watched ISA member perform son…
