The weekend!!

This past weekend was great I saw oblivion and it is my favorite movie! It has one of the best story lines I have seen in a while, also it really made me think. I really think everyone should go see this I promise you will not be disappointed!! I also finished my 20 page psych paper so I am happy about that too!!

Where did the semester go?

This semester is literally flying by with only two more weeks of classes. It is starting to feel like crunch time with due dates approaching rapidly and so many events on campus. We have two remaining tennis matches this season! I cannot believe how quick the semester has gone, although I feel as though I say the same thing every semester. In other news, I was just elected President of the Student Government Association for the…

Centipedes, crafts, and kindness to creatures : )

I set a centipede free this morning. Mind you, my first instinct when I see a bug is to … you know… get RID of it…. But I was on the phone with my mother. I made the mistake of freaking out, and telling her my plan to dispose of it. My mother has a simple way to handle bugs and other creatures who wander in…if they were in the house, get them outside. Unharmed. And oh…when we were little, we would proudly bring a lizard or frog up from the creek or the field, my mom would admire it, then…

Here comes Senior Sem

Ok, so this weekend is the fashion student showcase where I will have to display my senior seminar project. I'm nervous to say the least. I have to show what I've learned over four years here and the project really has encompasses everything I've ever done here. I'm excited but scared to have people seeing what I've been working on all semester. Here is a quick work in progress photo from my senior sem:…

Ah, Spring!

Spring is my absolute favorite season. The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and most importantly: THE ADIRONDACK CHAIRS ARE BACK!

I can’t tell you how many classes I’ve seen outside lately. It’s so relaxing to go and sit under a tree with your professors and fellow students and discuss whatever topics we are studying. I actually feel like I pay better attention when I have class outside. It makes the whole class go by faster!

Of course, with  all of the fantastic…

Counting Down...

Last few weeks of my sophomore year, feeling good. Only a few more papers to write and then finals to look forward too. Classes are going great this semester, learning so much about PA history and Art history. Can not wait for my trip to Philly to see the Art museum next thursday. This semester has gone by so quickly, it feels like I just started.

Conclusion internship summary

I cannot believe how quickly April 15th came and that my internship is complete. My internship at Herbein + Company has been a wonderful experience and I would recommend doing an internship with Herbein + Company to anyone interested in getting some real world experience. I was able to implement what I learned in the classroom to my internship, which is truly a rewarding experience. I was offered a full time position with the firm for after I graduate in the summer of 2014 as well as the…

I’m overly emotional when I’m sick… : )

I actually cried at work today.  I’m not particularly proud of this, mind you, but it is an interesting story, and while I’m at it, I will admit that I cried just a little during my Thursday class, too.  Okay, and Mason has seen some tears this week, too : )

Let me start by explaining that I am really sick.  Really sick.  I am on steroids, asthma medicine and antibiotics… I’m tired, achy, dreadfully cranky and whiney to boot (which you will all attest to after reading this)  Add to…

FINAL FALL SEMESTER!

Today I registered for my final fall semester. AHHHHH!

It's so crazy how fast time goes by in college. I remember high school where I felt like it took a life time to graduate. I was so ready by the end of it. College is so different. I know I've been given the necessary tools to graduate, but I don't know if I want to leave quite yet.

I am extremely excited for my schedule! I have two music business classes, my senior seminar for theatre, and a history class. I'm mostly…

Spring has sprung!

The weather the past couple days has been amazing! I love the warmer weather, it just puts me in an all around better mood. It's nice to not have softball practice and games in freezing cold weather as well, although my tan lines are starting to pay the price. I have a lot of work to do so I will most likely sit outside on this beautiful, 82 degree day to catch up!

Finally!

So the beautiful weather is finally here and hopefully to stay! I have been quite busy here in Washington, D.C.. Lately i have been writing letters to my senators and representatives, writing papers, class debates, and meeting new people in several organizations. Most exciting would be the white-tailed deer management plan at Rock Creek Park. The park has an overpopulation of deer and it is decreasing the health of the forest along with increasing vehicle/deer collisions. The National Park…

From Tennis to POPs to Dinner

Not surprisingly it was another busy weekend at Albright. On Saturday, the Men's and Women's Tennis Teams had a conference match against Hood. I am excited to say that both teams won their first conference match of the spring season! On Sunday, we had POPs (Peer Orientation Person) training. We did a ton of cheers, ice breakers, and did POP partner reveal all in preparation for Orientation in August for the Class of 2017. The theme for training was Toys so there were a lot of creative…

The End is Near

There is just one more week until individual tax returns are due! I can't believe how fast tax season went and that my internship will be complete in less than one week. I have had an amazing experience at my internship and have learned so many new things outside of the classroom, which is what I was hoping to do. Right now we have a few more returns to complete before the April 15th deadline comes but other than that we are not too busy, which is a good thing. On Monday, we will be having…

Spring Has Sprung!

We're finally starting to see some nice weather! It's still a little cold in the mornings but I am so happy to see it getting up into the mid-50s and 60s. I don't know about you but I am ready for some shorts weather! Hopefully I won't jinx it.

Things have been crazy busy around here, hence why I've been a little MIA. I went to my best friend Madi's house for Easter last weekend, as is now tradition, and we had so much fun. We had an egg hunt (yes I know I'm like 7 years old) and ate…

14th Annual Undergraduate Conference At Kutztown University

After a week of being sick, I saw this lovely e-mail waiting for me yesterday. My thesis on the transnational identity of salsa and merengue in the United States was accepted into a research conference on April…

Easter Break

This year my Easter Break was different than last year. I did not go home like usual and my parents came down like usual. This time though instead of going out to dinner we cooked it in my house on campus. I am currently living in something new this year which is themed housing. What this is, is when one gets a group of friends together around 4-6 they can pick a theme. Some just go with a club or organization they are in. After one applies for it through housing. You have to a sophomore or…

Easter Break

My break for Easter was great - I actually didn't do much but not worrying about practice or school work were my intentions. I got my hair trimmed, got a manicure, and renewed my license. On Easter Sunday, my mom cooked and we had a small feast with just immediate family. It was delicious and rewarding to spend time with my loved ones.

The fact that it is April already is pretty insane! I can't believe how fast 2013 and this semester are going by! The work load is starting to get…

The end of March

Well, with the end of March comes two months of undergraduate schooling left. I'm not sure where the time flew, but I do know I have a lot to get done. I have a good deal of sewing and cutting to do for senior seminar, but I'm not too worried about it. I have to keep my eyes on the prize and get a lot done in the upcoming weeks. It has been great spending time with my friends as we try to squeeze every ounce of fun into the homestretch as possible.

Initiation was last weekend and it…

Internship

Hey everyone! I have been really busy lately with my internship. I have been recently helping them organize and market some big events and exhibits they have coming up. It is really interesting getting to see all the "behind the scene" stuff that goes on just to put together an event. I am also continuing to set up the e-news and store e-news that gets sent out to the members at GoggleWorks. Yesterday I actually got to go with some of the staff to check out their website that is getting…
