It is the first free day I have had, since I have been Home and instead of relaxing and taking a break, I decided to start my application for a Summer Internship I am applying for. What the internship is, is to work at a local lab near my house in a research study hopefully invovling the fields of medical science and/or biology. The lab is Brookhaven National Laboratory, anyone know it? I am so excited and I hope I get it. I finshed all the easy parts of the app and now all I have left is…

So, this was a MUCH needed break for me! It's been GREAT, just hanging out with my family and my friends from high school, but I still feel Albright calling me back. There's just SO much to do preparing for next semester: fundraisers to plan, rosters to draft, plans to make... it gets a TWEE bit overwhelming, but at least I still have another month to do it. Being home's reminded me why I work so hard at school. It's all about bringing change. There are a LOT of injustices in the world that…

So it is the day after christmas and I am sitting here watching my boyfriend Josh and my brother James play The Incredibles video game. It has been a great past week filled with seeing family, spending time with my boyfriend who came to spend Christmas with me and relaxing. I also had to work a few days at the bakery I work at which was completly insane. But once my boyfriend got here I took the week off to gain some relaxing time to spend with Josh which I haven't been able to do since…

I finally was able to go home last Sunday, ok well not really home but, to my boyfriends house for the Hanukkah party where I met my family. We were eating, talking, the usual. We were giving out gifts joking around how it would be funny for me to go to Florida and see my grandma in which I haven't seen in almost 3 years. We all of a sudden went on the internet and booked a flight to florida, except I wasn't going myself I was going with Howie (my boyfriend). We booked the flight at 8pm on…

Added by Kelly Anne Cross on December 23, 2007 at 5:30pm — No Comments
I love winter break.
I promise, I have done absolutely nothing. Alright, well, not absolutely nothing. Lately though, all I've literally been doing each day is reading the bible, running, and hanging out with family and friends. It's so perfect! (Obviously, you see that I've neglected to attempt my Christmas shopping!) That's today's chore...or treat, i mean...treat.
It's always nice to get a short break from school...it's silly though, sometimes I get really…

There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays...
Hooorayyy! The semester is finally completed! Boy did it go quickly.
Finals went well, can't complain about those. I had to take four, however, out of my five classes, which ammounted to a whole lot of studying and late nights! On one of the nights during finals week, however, my friends and I got together, watched the Grinch, ate cookies, and exchanged gifts. It was a great time! (My friends and I are big Christmas music buffs...we've been listening to it for months now!)
Once…

Santa for a Day!
After ten years of reading applications and making decisions the joy of informing an eager student of their admission to college never gets old. Sometimes the planets align and you are able to make that moment even more special than normal. That occurred yesterday when I had a wonderful student and her family in my office for an interview.
This particular student was is very high on Albright, which is always good to know and I could tell she was anxious to know if Albright would be an…

After a hectic week of finals, filled of tests and papers. I finally have made it home :). It only took about 4 hours but it feels great to be back on Long Island. But I am not going to lie I am already missing my wonderful friends back at Albright...i almost cried when some of them left (i know such a girl lol). But I am so happy to be home at the same time. So.. Last week was final week what chaos, everyone was busy busy busy, with papers and finals, me and my friends set up in the lounges…

It's over, it's done, it's a wrap. Yep. I just took my last final for the semester and I'm so excited I can hardly contain my joy. Okay but not so fast because I have one more paper that's due tomorrow. Anyways, who cares, it's almost done so I'm not going to allow that to take my joy away.
I had so much to tell you because this past weekend was amazing. Friday, it started with our Gospel Ensemble Christmas candlelight dinner. The fun, food, dancing and singing. Then there was Club…

Okay, soo..dead center in the middle of Finals week, and I've got just one more to go. Well, "technically" I'm handing in my Special Education notebook tomorrow morning (and my final), but then I have one more actual test!! WOOO-HOOO!! I totally can't believe that anothe semester is over...is it true that there are only 3 more left for this little girl?
Yikes! So, this semster has definitely been a time of reflection. I think that is a "college known fact"...you…

Just a few more days . . .
A post in pictures for the last week of the semester!
I spent three nights in the last week at the computer center which is very strange for me . . . I got a lot done, though, so I'm glad!
Here are two more pictures from our fancy date party!

Papers and exams and finals oh my!!
Yes, yes we have reached the end of the semester! We are officially done on Friday, sooner if your finals finish earlier. Of course, I have a final on Friday so I'll be chillen. Although, today was by far my worst day. I had a book review do for my independent study class on Advanced Social Theory and another final, so it was a late night last night. But...it's done!
How are other things in my life? Well, let's see. Oh that's right, I have a story! So as many of you know I…

So many application, so little time!
I have 35 complete applications sitting on my desk and need to get through them to get decisions out. It is great to be busy, and that so many of you are showing interest in Albright, but this time of year can be stressful for admission people. I went to a meeting the other day with other admission professionals and someone from a college in the Lehigh Valley was reading applications during a break in the meeting. Any window of free time is spent reading recommendations, calculating GPAs,…
