Junior Year?
Another school year has begun and I sincerely find it hard to believe that I'm a junior. Excuse the cliche, but high school just doesn't feel that distant in the past. I mean, I've already transferred once in my college career, joined an awesome fraternity, and have an internship under my belt, yet I'm not sure that I'd classify myself as an "adult". As a result, I've decided to enjoy this second half of my college career as much as possible.
A checklist to ensure such…

First Couple Days of Class
So Monday was the big day where everyone started back up with their "normal" school lives. I began my classes and stepped in to my new major with 2 back to back business classes. (Talk about jumping into things head first.) After those classes I am filling one of my humanities credits with a class called Modern American Poetry, which should be pretty interesting.

$61.53
Last night I spent a painful, adventurous, drawn out, momentous, and hilarious $61.53. I went big boy shopping. With my list in hand and a trusty friend (Theresa Black) at my side, I headed for the grocery store.
You see, I now have my very own apartment. I live in the illustrious Albright Woods. This apartment comes with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms…and no meal plan. (I could have had a meal plan, but I decided it would be better for me to learn how to fend…

Earthquake?
Wow! Today was such an interesting day! Not only did I start my internship at Reese Advertising today, but I lived through an earthquake! A small one, but an earthquake nonetheless!
I thought I was going crazy in my little cubicle at my internship until everyone else started acting just as crazy as I was. All I can tell you is that an earthquake is a great way for a new intern to meet all the other co-workers on the first day!
I will hopefully see you all…

2015---That sounds like another lifetime away doesn't it? A few weeks ago, I dropped my little cousin off to college at Holy Cross. She got accepted to Albright but she wanted to stay in Massachusetts.
As I took pics of the campus, her dorm and yes, the bathroom, I was reminded of my very first day at Albright. Of course it was a different experience. I think we're the only campus with fun, loud and energetic pops who will gladly take your things to the third floor of your…

Broadway Trip Here I Come!
My mom and I have birthdays in September and August respectively, and I have realized over the course of the years that I cannot remember the shirt I got or the new jeans but the memories I create. For instance, for my high school graduation I got tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld, and I don't think I will ever laugh that hard. So this year my mom and I are combining our gifts from my dad (sorry dad but you're not coming) and going to a weekend in New York! We go tickets to see Wicked, which…

Move In
Can you believe that tomorrow is move in?! I'm a steering committee member and so part of my duties is to arrive to school extra early to prepare for YOU to move in. :) I'm so excited! Tonight though is very stressful in the Dillard household. To show how much my parents love me, they won't leave me alone! (You'll see when you start getting ready to leave.) My dad is reveling in the fact that he can…

Being Home
Hello everyone,
I am finally done with my summer job, at the high ropes course and now I am at my house for the next couple of days until I move into my apartment on the 20th. So I won't even be at my house for an entire week before I am back in the hustle and bustle of my life. As soon as I am moved in I start working again for the Admissions office giving tours as well as my Internship starts up that week as well. Not to mention classes the following week, so I have a feeling that…

Credential Inflation
Read a terrific article in the NY Times last month entitled, "The Master's as the New Bachelors". Your education is never over! We must all realize that if we aren't working to improve ourself or advance our standing, someone else will pass us by. Too many students graduate from somewhere, high school or undergraduate school feeling they have crossed the finish…

Ready to ride!
Hello again!
My work this summer has finally paid off! I now own a 1979 Yamaha XS750 Special. I just got it yesterday and I've already ridden it for an hour today. It's gonna be quite the process getting used to the power and weight, though. Having tested on a 250cc Suzuki, this bike seems like a behemoth. It's still a ton of fun though and I'll be fully used to it by the time new student orientation starts. Which reminds me...
School starts in two weeks! I'm…

Death in the ER
It is foremost my sad task to say that this blog post will not contain any references to Harry Potter. Maybe just one because I spent the day in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios and it was the best day in my entire life!! However much it pains me not to go on about my day for fifteen paragraphs, I have consigned myself to keep my blogs related to the muggle world.
As you know, I have been working in Reading Hospital all summer as a scribe in the Emergency…

An update on my life...
Soo, today is August 8th and there's less than a week before I'm back at school to startup with football. Honestly, it's bitter-sweet. I'm excited to be back and see everybody but summer is always a good time. As an update, last week I finished my internship with UGI. It really was a great experience and I can't thank everyone in the Career Center enough for helping me out with finding that and being hired. I was able to make some MONEY which is always good... and,…
