FIRST DAY...interesting.
Added by Szalene Anthony on August 30, 2010 at 7:31pm — No Comments
Today was the first day of classes and they were pretty interesting. Here's the schedule for today:
9am-10am: Classical Mechanics
11am-12pm: Abstract Algebra
1pm-2pm: Hispanics in the US
6pm-8pm: Economics
So far I've only had the first 3 classes, but it went well. We decided that we didn't want to meet 4 days a week for the classical mechanics class, so we moved class times around. (There are only 6 people in the class, so it wasn't difficult to…

Hi Albright!
I promise, I promise! I will get a picture up sooner than later! In the mean time, text will have to do. I am excited to be a new Albrightian and to have already experienced the community in the last three weeks. Everyone has been welcoming, and I look forward to returning that spirit to the incoming freshmen. I come to Albright from Pittsburgh (hometown) via Gettysburg (for school). I feel like I…

College Move-In Days: Parents Showing Faith!
I'm the parent of a seven and three year old. I have an innate sense to not let my daughter get to close to railings or run with a sharp object. I'm always aware of my son getting out of my site or putting something in his mouth. I'm not sure this concern and desire to protect will ever go away. I think being protective (or do I dare say, overprotective?) is much better than the alternative.
From 13 years of experience in higher education, which includes 13 move-in days, I…

Well the time has come for all of us to return to Albright. I am so excited because this is my senior year. It seems so surreal. I rememeber thinking that senior year seemed far away, now it is actually here. I advise all incoming freshmen, sophmores, and juniors to take advantage of the time they have here at Albright. This has truly been a wonderful experience. I have met some of the most wonderful people here on this campus. I am looking forward to meeting new people, going to new places,…

Video Taping the Tour!

August is a busy tour time of year for colleges and universities. I think that families realize that as soon as the school year starts there is little time for any activity that isn't already part of the structured schedule. We are averaging anywhere from 5 to 10 visitors a day as opposed to 2 or 3 in July.
I was walking across campus last Friday and ran into Taylor Mutschler's family on tour with one of our ambassadors,…

we love you albright oh yes we doo...
Hi y'all!!
I cannot believe this year is about to start! I've entered the running around and constantly cleaning and packing phase of getting ready for school. Yes it really does happen every year, but it gets easier and faster as the years go on. School shopping is still my downfall, I just spend so much money. This year is proving to be super exciting and a little more intense than last year. I'm looking forward to classes, but I still have a lot…

I feel sooo old but I am so excited to celebrate this birthday as I will be celebrating with my AMAZING friends! Hey Everyone! So today started off as any other day this summer. I got up, ate some breakfast, and jumped on the computer. I decided I should check my Albright e-mail for any important e-mails about classes or my three jobs on campus, especially since it's been a while since I last checked it. When I pulled up the Albright website, I couldn't believe my eyes! THERE I WAS! I was on the homepage! I jumped up, did a happy dance, and then called my parents at work. My mom kept me on the phone…
