ContinueI really can't believe how fast the summer is flying by. I stated in my last blog I would talk about my experience as a camp couselor. It was great! I got to go camping at French Creek, see Hawk Mountain, and hear great speakers on a variety of conservation issues. It was also great working with high school students. They were a blast.
My newest summer adventure took place last weekend. I had the chance to go to Fallingwater.…

Summer Time
Been slightly delinquent with updates, the lost sleep our new family edition is destroying brain cells and I am still catching up from my time away from work.
Hopefully all college bound high school seniors have already visited their top choice school this spring or earlier. However, many students have not and there are too many places to visit even for the most ambitious of families. Summertime is a great time for rising seniors to visit those colleges that they aren’t sure about and…

So I just had the best weekend ever. Why you may ask? Well first it wasn't going so well because my usual 3 1/2 hour drive to Albright took instead 6 hrs because there was so much traffic. But it was well worth it. On Friday Night when I finally made it into Reading, I got to visit my boyfriend who goes to Albright also and is where we met :) and got to spend some time with him. Then we got up early Saturday morning and met my best friend and roomie Dana so we could drive up to see everyone…

Summer Open House
Tell me another college or university where the vice president of enrollment makes cotton-candy at an open house. Sunday was our summer open house, always a fun day, little too humid, but overall a lot fun. How can you not have fun when snow cones, cotton-candy and popcorn are being served.
Over 200 families got to mingle and eat lunch with faculty, view all the facilities changes on campus (New Schumo Center and the renovations to Selwyn Pond) and hear about the new science building…

Once upon a time there was a Student ID Card that traveled through Berks County.
So, your Student ID card is pretty much your life. It is how you access food, the bookstore, your dorm, laundry, library...and the list goes on. Losing your ID is also a part of the "college experience". I however, have prided myself on the fact that I have NEVER lost it. As my eye doctor always says..if it's not on your face it's in your case...doesn't really apply, but it seemed appropriate.
So one fine day when I was working tirelessly in the Campus…

Guate, Guate Guate Guate, Guate!!!!
I'm walking down an ancient cobblestone street smelling scents that would normally make me turn up my nose in disgust and I'm hearing sounds completely and utterly foreign to me in every sense of the word. However, I am comfortable. Vaguely in the distance I see a giant hill that has the potential to spit red hot saliva from the firey depths of this place we call earth. All around me are people selling their lively hoods; tomatoes, beans, avocados, lettuce, and textiles of every color. All…

Summer Heat
Hello Hello!
I realize that this is one of the latest blogs on our page....but this thing can be so difficult to navigate! Especially for the first time.
Summer is going just peachy, but boy is it flying. I can't believe we are already into our second week of July! Lets see, so far this summer I have taken a summercourse to finish my mathematics requirement, been involved in two summerleagues (which takes up a huge chunk of my time), and worked in the Albright Admission office.…

I'm Backkk!!!
Hey everyone,
So it has been a while since I have been on here. So I will rewind to the beginning of last week (June 25). This was the start of my new camp for the next 11 days. I was a camp instructor for 35 7th-9th graders. I dont think I would ever want to go back to those years of my life, and seeing the way they all interacted and acted over the 11 days that solidified my feelings of never wanting to be that awkward age…

Hey everyone,
I realized I'm late to sign up and summer is flying by. So far I have been working on my internship and was a camp counselor for a conservation camp. My internship is with The Children's Institute for Advancement in Environmental Health and so far has been a good experience. I have to say sorry again because today is the 4th (happy 4th of July) and I have to help grill. Be prepared for the next blog to give a detailed report about the adventure of being a camp…
