Paying $$ for financial aid

Some current students recently brought to my attention a company that charges students to help them with the financial aid application process for money. This company, College Aid Professionals, charge families up to $500 a year to help complete the FAFSA, scholarship applications, and additional loan applications. All of which can be completed for FREE and you can get same better assistance from the financial aid office. A student should NEVER pay for financial aid. While some schools… Continue

May 1 FAFSA Deadline

Students who are residents of PA need to have your FAFSA completed by May 1 to be eligible for the PA state grant. Even if your parents don't have their tax information filed you should still complete the FAFSA by the May 1 deadline using an estimate based on last years tax information. On the FAFSA you would just indicate that taxes have not been filed but that they will be. This will still meet the May 1 deadline for state grant eligibility. As always please feel free to call, email or stop… Continue

My First Field Trip... as the teacher!

So friday is my first field trip... well not first ever but first in the shoes that I am wearing (aka) being the teacher! My 5th grade class at Earl Elementary School are going to the Pennsylvania Colonial Plantation in Media, PA! I am very excited to go to the plantation because I remember going there when I was younger so memories are there and will be evoked on the trip. But this time I am the teacher which is a neat experience for me because I have my own group of students to chaperon and… Continue

HELLOOOO WISCONSIN!

Hi everyone,

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind! Crazy amount of exams and homework right up until Easter and then finally able to relax for a few days at home. However, all too soon it was back to Albright, but only for a few days because on Wed. afternoon 2 other students, myself and our 3 advisors made our way to the Philly airport. After a pit stop in Minnesota, we arrived in Lacrosse, WI around 11:30pm and I didn't fall asleep until after 1:00AM (2AM our time). Haha,… Continue

Homework Help

I have a biology genetics problem and I am having great difficulty with it. If there is anyone who can help me, please messege me, or send a comment.

Here is the problem:

In sesame plants, the one-pod condition (P) is dominant to the three-pod condition (p) and normal leaf (L) is dominant to the wrinkled leaf (l). Pod type and leaf type are inherited independantly. Determine the genotypes for the 2 parents for all possible mating producing the following off spring:

Wonderfully Warm Weather

Woohoo!

The College is coming ALIVE! Spring is here! Everyone is out and about enjoying the warmth! I have been soaking up as many of the rays I possibly could over this weekend. On Friday I spent 3 hours outside, tanning and basking. There were many different people who would come, join me and my Big, Kaitie, and then leave when they had to. We started at 1:30 just with the two of us, sitting outside the dorm. By 4:30 we had a large group of people, people putting SunIn in their… Continue

OPEN HOUSE!

So today was my last open house ... soo sad.. I am truly going to miss meeting so many of the future Albrightians! Though I will be back to visit!!! I think the worst part of leaving college is knowing someone is going to have my mailbox in which I LOVE ... lol Anywho! I have been so busy with student teaching! It is going so well and I can't even beleive I just got done my mid-term evaluation for my second placement! It has gone so fast and I need to take time to look around me and appreciate… Continue

Last Open House!

I can't believe I'm writing this right now! Today is my last official Open House. Maybe I've been avoiding this blog just so I don't have to think about it. Albright has been such an incredible experience for me, I can't face having to "give it up" in a matter of a few weeks. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll never have to "give up" Albright! Not being able to live here and enjoy campus life and college fun will certainly be a culture shock!

I'll have to record some reflections afterwards.… Continue

An Easter Morning Alarm

Hello All!

We recently had a short break, Tyler mentioned that his was too short, for Easter. We had Friday and Monday off. I did not go home for break, I stayed in the dorms. None-the-less, my break was neither lonely or boring.

My two best friends, who are both in the Navy stationed with Marines in Camp Lejuene, North Carolina came to visit me for the weekend. They arrived Friday night and left Monday morning. We had a blast! They met many of my friends who stayed for the… Continue

Getting Anxious

Hello everyone. So my teacher has posted his count for graduation. 45 more school days. Our graduation date is June 17 but when I think about it, the senior will be done after the fist week of June, which is when we take our finals. I don't know about the rest of my peers, but I'm pretty psyched about graduating. Finally after four years it's just weeks away. All there's left to do is finish my senior project, go to prom (oh gosh!), and pass fourth quarter. Does any esle feel the anxiousness… Continue

Sunshine for an Open House?

So for as long as I have been an ambassador, every open house has been taken over by Mother Nature and has either been dominated by snow, rain, sleet, hail, flying little people...you know...the normal stuff. However I have been checking the weather for the week and I see sunshine in the forcast. Now I do wear glasses so several times I took off my glasses, rubbed my eyes a little bit...thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. However to my amazement that high of 62 a sunny stayed the same!!!… Continue
