We Really Are FAMILY!

Yesterday I was having a horrible day. My horrible day got even worse at about 5pm when I was sitting in the Caf and found out that my grandma had passed away. Well as soon as my friends saw my facial reaction they knew that something was wrong people were coming up to me, some who I didn't even know, and asking me if I was ok. I just wanted to thank everyone and I know that my family here at Albright will always have my back. We are all here to support eachother and thank you to my Albright… Continue

Hello from Down Under!!!

So I finally have internet and everything so I can start updating you on my life abroad. I landed in Melbourne last Monday and we went to an awesome little beach town, that had a really cool small city street with all the shops and places to eat, and then at the end the strip on one side was the beach and on the other end was the bay so we were basically surrounded by water. We spend 3 days there just getting oriented and learning all about Australian culture and everything that we need to know… Continue

Orange Mixed with White=Clockwork and a Snow Day!

What a way to start the weekend, a snow day, the second in about a week. I woke at 8am this morning to find out that we had a two-hour late opening. Yay for more sleep. I went back to bed, only to wake up 2 1/2 hours later to an IM from my friend James that all classes were cancelled, yay for snow day, even the better that it just happened to be on a Friday. ..

After lunch, my friends and I decided to go sledding. There's no better place to sled when it snows than Science Hill. On… Continue

Ch-Ch-Changin'! ;o) (Thrilling Conclusion and Part 3 of the Ramble Chronicles)

So, these CHANGES are just really incredible. As a freshman, I saw the Shirk Stadium in its all-new glory, I've seen the Schumo Center for Health and Fitness rise up from its parking lot beginnings, the Campus Center make-over extravaganza, the 'fish bowl' transmogrify into "Le Hotel Albright," the Mohn Hall kitchen masterfully remodeled, the library patio spiffed up and beautified, and, probably structurally most importantly, Sylvan Pond re-opened for business. The last in the line was… Continue

Making Albright Home (Part 2 of the Ramble Chronicles)

So, I'm just always so glad to see the changes that one is able to ease out of the universe when they just take the time out to be concerned with and to care about others, and the impact that constant compassion makes on an environment, even one 1650 students strong!

I'm amazed at how much the Albright that I fell in love with has changed since Junior and Senior year at Pen Argyl High, when I first met Kathryn Adams, my A.C. Admissions Counselor and impetus for my love of Albright's… Continue

Coleman Day Fun and the Kewl Tour Story! (Part 1 of the Ramble Chronicles)

So, on Monday we had one BUSY day in the office! NOT ONLY did we have a TON of awesome prospectives coming to visit us on their off-day for President's Day, but it was also Coleman Day for students of color interested in applying for the Coleman Scholarship! Their was activity all over campus, with tours flying in and out on the hour! (I have NO IDEA how Debi does it! She keeps that place running like clockwork and NEVER seems to lose her cool. She's always on top of things. Good ol' Albright… Continue

FRIENDS!

Heyy everyone,

1am on a Thursday morning-what better time to write a blog?

I'm not really tired-its weird, I just took a mini "power-nap" out on the futon in our living room, and that must have given me some extra energy, because I'm really feeling like I've got the power to just crack away at anything right now! (Maybe this is a result of not doing work late at night..anymore..or just not doing work?)

Anyway, the semester is going well, and I've had no blue leg… Continue

Where does the time go?

I really don't know. I feel like I just had blogged but it has already been 2 weeks. I just don't know where the time has gone. Maybe it is the hetic semster I am trying to get under my belt. Since we are already so many weeks into the semester, professors are beginning to settle in which means the test and papers are here. AHH! I should be used to this already and I am...but it is still hard to get through the first exams in each one of my classes. I am saying this is my hardest semester… Continue

Getting ready for NACA

So, I'm supposed to be getting ready to leave for the airport, but I figured I would come on here and give you guys a little bit of an update. So, this past week, i completed one of the hardest assignments of my whole college career. A 25 page research paper about eco fashion for my public relations and advertising class. I know it might not sound like a big paper to some people who write crazy papers all the time, but it was a lot for me. It was a group project, but it was still ridiculously… Continue

Okay so joining FACES is something I have been meaning to do, for quite sometime now. I've been really busy, and unable to get around to it. There is so much work to be done, for class, and outside of class, and then their is my job on campus, and helping out across the street, its enough to make my head spin at times. But i LOVE it, keeping busy is what keeps me sane (no matter how insane it makes me).

So what are cafe trays used for?

Albright students don't use trays in the cafe. It is one of the Albright phenomenas. Now it has been quite sometime since I was a college student, but I used a tray in the cafe at my school, so this oddity caught me off guard. If you visit the cafe you can always tell the non-Albrightians. They stick out, the visitors, the faculty, the administrators.......... they all use trays. The students, ABSOLUTELY NOT!

So why are there trays in… Continue

So, I am sitting here in my dorm staring out the window and the snow that is falling. But truly I am not very happy right now! I love to snowboard and my boyfriend I love to go at every chance that we get, however, tonight we can not go. The perfect night to go out snowboarding and he has to work! So, I am sitting here in my room actually doing work and I decide why not join Albright Faces?! So here I am, a face of Albright, a freshmen who is finally realizing what Albright is all about! So who… Continue

3 down..12 to go

Hola...I know you're wondering what the title is all about...Well, we just finished the 3rd week of classes and 12 more to go but....who's counting right. Anyways, it's been an OK three weeks. Truthfully, I think my professors got together and decided to torture me with a whole lot of readings, but I'm on top of it so it's all good. Classes are excellent so far.

My political theory class is interesting. We're just finishing Plato's republic and boy oh boy. What is Justice? Next is my…
