The final countdown

So,

Here it is.

Spring Semester of my Senior Year!

Where did the time go?? It feels like just yesterday that I came onto campus and began my journey.

I am nervous to start applying for jobs.

I still feel like a…

Spring Semester already?!

Wow! It seems like the blink of an eye, and the fall semester has become the spring.  Not even an interim in between.  Christmas feels like it was months ago, even though it was really only one month ago.

My January externship was SO MUCH FUN!  I shadowed two doctors from the Reading Hospital in the Dept. of Medicine, and it was really an incredible experience.  If you have the chance at college, I would definitely suggest doing an internship/externship.…

Stowe, Vermont!

Well, Andrew beat me to it, but I am still going to talk about the trip anyway because it was awesome!  Last year I became President of the Ski Club, and I will say that I will be glad to hand off the position!  It was a lot of work organizing a trip for 21 people, but at the end of the day, it was worth it because I got the big bedroom.  Just kidding, but in the past 2 trips to Vermont, I have met new friends and people that I don't normally spend time with on campus, and that is what makes…

Last Semester!

I can't believe yesterday was the first day of spring semester. I also can't believe this is my last semester of undergrad. These past three years have seriously gone by sooooo fast. I have a really bad case of senior sadness :[

But on a plus side, there are TONS of events going on in the theatre.

First, I am directing three short pieces by Teresa Rebeck called The Bar Plays.

The will be performed Saturday January 28th @ 8:00 in…

Back to the old grind

First... Happy New Year to everyone!!! I have been back for quite a while! I actually returned to school on January second to get some hours working at the front desk, and the admissions office. I had the free time because I chose not to take an interim class so I spent the three week period working half time at both my jobs to get money for books and a little shopping to take care of any apartment necessities. I always…

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

Well, ended my winter break with an AWESOME flyers/bruins game. it was a game that had everything... fights, OT, shootout, a hat trick, etc. JUST WISH THE FLY GUYS COULD HAVE WON! Oh well :/ Now, I'm back to school and ready to start off the Spring semester. Excited to catch up with everyone and get back into the swing of things!!

It's That Time Again!

Classes start tomorrow!  This is so crazy.  Time is flying, but I'm sure it is for all of you as well!  I can't believe that vacation is over already.  And I still need to get all of my books!  That's the plan for tomorrow during lunch: spend an exorbitant amount of money to buy the books I need for the semester.  Somehow I'm not exactly looking forward to that.  But seeing everyone will be nice.  I've missed all my friends.  They're my family away from home.  That's why it's so important to…

Ski Trip

I just returned from the annual Albright Ski Club trip to Vermont. A group of 20 of us, along with Alison Burke and her husnand, skied two days in Stowe, VT on Mount Mansfield. Alison is the director of our Schumo Center for Fitness and Wellbeing. We took two of the college vans on the eight hour road trip and had an absolute blast. We skied practically from sunup to sundown, then came back to make dinner, play cards, shoot pool, and hang out around the fire. The second night we even went…

ONE MONTH AWAY!

We are two weeks into interim and I am absolutely exhausted!  Swimming twice a day accompanied by dryland practices and lifting has drained all the energy out of my body.  However, it is all worth it because we start tapering in one week!!  Tapering is what every swimmer lives for.  The philosophy behind tapering is that we train hard and build our bodies up to be able to quickly replace fuel and…

Ahhhh....

I hope everyone's holidays were happy and healthy, and full of good food!  I know mine was!  I am loving break, but I'm starting to get that itch where I'm ready to get back to Albright.  I miss everyone.  Even the classes!

I've been working a lot now that I'm home, but I couldn't go in yesterday because I was sick.  I work in an assisted living home and caught whatever bug was circulating there!  It was no fun!  Thankfully, I'm feeling much better today.

A…

HAPPY NEW YEAR....10 DAYS LATER!!

So hello everyone and welcome to 2012!!!! I'm so happy to be in this year, because there is so much to look forward to. My mother's wedding, graduation, the end of the world (JK!!!!). But for real, I really believe that this year is one of new beginnings. I went through a lot last semester, more challenging than I expected, but I survived. The fact that I am at school during interim but not taking a class is kind of a blessing in disguise. I have time to organize my thoughts, my mind, find…

"Break" is counting down....

Sooo.... Christmas was great! Got to love spending time w/ the fam and all that good food! I spent my New Years with a mix of friends from Albright and some from High School... it was def a good time! Now though, it's starting to hit me that it's soon time to be back in classes. I honestly don't mind going back to school just so I can see everybody again but the classes thing i could do without lol. I'm sure you've heard there are interim classes going on now so a lot of people are around…

January at the 'Bright!

Hello again!

It's January 9th and I'm back at school again! I swear I never leave, but that's okay I like it here. I'm taking an interim class which is a three week class in January and it's super condensed. I have class four hours a day for four days a week. The best part about interim is that it's super inexpensive because your room and board carry over between semesters. All that you pay for is the call and books and you are set!

I'm taking an apocalyptic literature…

Interim

At Albright there is a unique three week period after the new year that we call "Interim". Interim is called January Term at other schools. During Interim students at Albright can choose to take a threee week intensive class. Classes typically run for three to four hours a day Mon-Fri. During the classes, students really get a chance to focus on one thing with everything they have.

In my freshman year, a senior at the time told me that Interim is when students really make…

Sad to see Catholic School Closings

I feel your pain for anyone who is attending 1 of the 5 Catholic high schools in the Diocese that is closing.  Two years ago, my high school, Cardinal Dougherty closed, and my Alma Mater is no longer somewhere to go and say hi to the faculty who helped me get to where I am today.  I was lucky enough to have already graduated, and I hope the same goes for you if you are seniors.  You will be looking for a new alma mater though, and Albright was the place for me!

I know it can be a…

Happy New Year!!

Hey everyone! Happy New Year! I hope everyone has enjoyed their time off. I have been so busy. I spent the first week home kind of vegging and recuperating, but then after that it was Christmas and back to work for me! So I worked a lot at the restaurant, caught up with some friends, and then it was New Years and that meant back to school!

My New Years Eve was fun. I didn't have any real plans, but I finally went to my best friend's house. We played the Black Eyed Peas…
