Kristine Lynn Maravel 2 metro lines, 2 buses, 1 plane, and you reach Barcelona

My roommate and I decided to take a little getaway and go to Barcelona this week. After class on Tuesday, we took a bus to the airport, and boarded the plane. Now, this was my first experience with RyanAir and I always heard "horror" stories of how they could make more money off of young travelers. Here are a few examples- if you do not print out your boarding pass, it could result in a 40 euro fee, if you you want to check a bag, it could become 30-70 euro fee, and if you want to go to the bat… Continue

A friend and I bought tickets to the 12:02 show..we pulled up to the theater after cheerleading practice at 10:30 and the line was already out the door! It was insane..but we were hungry so we went to Applebees first! We told the waitress we were in a hurry so we got our food in like ten minutes..our food being the nachos platter, chicken quesadillas and spinach artichoke dip (Yes all that for 2 girls!!).… Continue

Jen Werner the clock counts down...

Yes, it is definitely that time of the semester again... the days are numbered and few. Professors are realizing that we have just over 2 weeks of class left and they are trying to fit in as much information as possible! In some ways, I'm thrilled, in others I'm scared out of my mind! In 2 weeks, I will be taking my last set of final exams and then I will start my student teaching at the end of January. Don't get me wrong, I'm so thrilled to be in a classroom. My observations this semester have… Continue

Jeff Plummer ahhhh stress!!!

It's getting really busy to say the least. We've hit the part of the semester where everything seems to hit us all at once... Pledging has been time consuming, but fun at the same time. Last week I had two tests, and this week two more. One of the tests this week was on Monday so only one more to go...and that's on Friday. Problem is it's in my abstract algebra class, which is really hard, so I'm nervous for it. Just going to have to hit the books. I also have a 10 page math paper to write, a u… Continue

Matt Palmiere Is it Thanksgiving Yet?

I mean that in a good way! It's a busy 'nother couple of weeks. Most of it is fraternity events, we're doing a 'headshaving' fundraiser in which I'm participating....but I won't win because my hair is already pretty short. Otherwise it's the peak of the semester and the papers and exams are piling up. I used to be able to nap every afternoon but lately I've been using that time to get work done before my nightly meetings and events. Enough about my busy life, how about those Packers? Aaron Ro… Continue

Chris Boehm New Albright Experience

I've been to graduations, air band competitions, championship basketball games, and presidential inaugurations at Albright; however I think the International Student Dinner I attended last night may have been my most enjoyable Albright function EVER! The cafe was packed! I'd estimate 600 students, faculty, and employees and their families attended. Not only did I get to try some food from different countries (cooked by the students from those countries) but we also watched ISA member perform son… Continue

Alice C. Santana Fort Building Anyone?

So tonight my roommate bursted out in random thought (like she does most days) and declared she wanted us to turn our dorm room into a fort for finals week. Yes I repeat build a fort! I started laughing at her but it definitely got me thinking about how we could be building a really cool fort using every item in our room including the tv, rope lights, and microfridge. lol i even mentioned creating our own solar system! I think the part that made this conversation even funnier is the fact that sh… Continue

Chris Boehm Fall Thoughts

My fall travels to high schools have ended. And while the leaves on the trees are changing outside, the admission office appears very similar to the way it did last year. Applications are everywhere! It's almost impossible to keep up. We are running up about 3% from last year's 26% increase so everyone is knee deep in reading and updated files, and calling students. Fall admission programs are running well, hope to see some of you at the Visual, Design, and Performing Arts Day tomorrow. Travel… Continue

Although I am not playing do to red-shirting this year I am happy to say that my boys are taking car e of business and i hope that some of you can make it to the game. This is by far the biggest game of the year because of a new formed rivalry between your Lions and Del Val. For those of you who are freshman and for those of you who… Continue

Katie 72 Hours of Straight Rocking

Tonight starts the official kick-off of Alpha Delta Pi’s Rock-A-Thon. What’s a Rock-a-Thon? Well, it is where the sisters of ADPi continuously rock for 72 hours, from tonight at 8 PM, until Friday at 8 PM. There are always 3 sisters rocking at the same time. All the money that we raise goes to the Ronald McDonald House, our philanthropy. The best part about Rock-A-Thon is that the whole Albright Community gets involved. Different organizations around campus bring us hot chocolate and coffee as… Continue

Jeff Plummer An Eventful Week

Things have been pretty crazy the past couple of weeks, so I'm going to recap some of the highlights. Classes have been going well. They are all starting to get busy at the same time as well as all of my activities, but I'm just going to have to fight through it. Last weekend I went to see Saw 6 with a group of friends, and the movie was very good. So if you are a Saw fan and have not seen the new movie, I recommend it. I love those types of movies that keep you guessing throughout the movie, t… Continue

Matt Palmiere Saturday In the Admission Office

Hey all! Happy Halloween and all that stuff. I'm sitting in the Admission office this fine Saturday with Jeff, Jen, Erin, and of course Loren. Today's the day of the Albright/FDU game, hope we can keep the undefeated season alive. I might get to catch the second half of the game once we finish up work here. SGA is having a tailgate near the stadium with FREE cheesesteaks, which is an instant win in my book. And the other day my FACE was put up! It was a nice surprise to get all the text messa… Continue

Alice C. Santana CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE!!!!!

So this past week we had a field trip (yes we still have field trips in college!) to the Hershey Chocolate Plant out in Hershey, PA!!!!!!! It was so much fun getting to tour the plant, meet the employees, and most of all getting tons and tons of FREE CHOCOLATE! It was like going trick or treating at the factory!? lol We learned alot about how the factory was started and it was interesting to learn that as an entreprenuer, Milton Hershey, failed about 5 times before he had his 1st successful bus… Continue

Mike Moorhouse Life In the Fast Lane.

Hey all! Its unbelievable that midterms has come and gone already! My junior year is almost half over and I can't even believe it. I never thought that I would be sitting in my advisor's office discussing what I still need to take in order to graduate on time. I mean, my family always told me that my college years are going to be the fastest 4 years of my life and well NOW I believe them. It feels like yesterday that I was running up and down the halls of Walton, setting up miniature gol… Continue
